Dr. Bray returned to Kelowna recently after travelling and gaining a wide experience in his chosen field. He and his family spent the years 1984-2000 enjoying Kelowna where he practiced as a General Dentist. Recognizing how he could help people at a deeper level, he commenced his journey that over the next 13 years took him to several countries, many practice and educational opportunities and time in some of the most prestigious hospitals in the world. He has written and published widely and regularly presents to colleagues. His practice is dedicated to Snoring, sleep apnea, chronic headache and TMJD. He lives with his wife in Kelowna where they enjoy spending time with their family, both children and their three grandchildren.
Qualifying BDS with honors in medicine at the London Hospital in London, Dr. Bray worked at that hospital until travelling to Canada with his wife, where he studied at the University of Toronto (and achieved his DDS). Moving with his wife, he then worked in underserved areas in Northern Ontario before settling with his wife and family in Kelowna, where he practiced general dentistry for 16 years.
He returned to the UK to write, teach and restrict his practice to TMD, Sleep disorders and advanced Full Mouth Reconstruction. During his time in the UK he took and passed his ICCMO Fellowship and MFDS. RCPSG as well as MFDS RCSED exams. He studied in the field of Prosthodontics and achieved his Post Graduate Certificate in Prosthodontics from Kings College London. After this, he completed Certificate level in Implantology at the Royal College of Surgeons, England. During this time, he studied in the US, Scotland, Germany and India too.
Travelling to Boston, Mass. he earned his Fellowship Exams in Facial Pain and Sleep Disorders. He and his wife then lived for in Boston while he worked as a University lecturer and clinical demonstrator at Tufts University, sharing his time with the Center for Sleep Medicine at Tufts Medical Center, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Harvard. He achieved his 2-year Post Graduate Behavioural Sleep Medicine qualification from Glasgow and attended the Royal Brompton Hospital before returning to Kelowna where, following board certification eligibility, he dedicates his practice to the management of TMD and Dental Sleep Medicine.
Associated with Kelowna Sleep Clinic and the Sleep Physicians, as “in house” dentist there, he is a member of various Sleep and Facial Pain Study Groups. (AASM, AADSM, SBSM, AACP)
